Automation kit

Store & Inventory Kit

Planned: every movement is a row, balances come from movements, issues cannot exceed stock, and count differences need a reason and approval.

Interactive demo availablePrices are not published yet. The kit is not on sale until it passes a supervised pilot.

Everything below describes the planned kit. The demo shows these ideas with a simulation. Nothing in this kit has yet been installed and tested in a real business; that is the next step.

The problem

Stock in and out is not recorded properly, so shortages are found too late and counts never match.

Who it is for

Single-location stores, workshops and small factories

Designed for (to be confirmed in pilot)

  • Google Sheets
  • Google Apps Script
  • CSV import and export

CSV import and export are file transfers, not a live connection to Tally, Zoho, Busy or any other software.

Planned first-release scope

  • Item list with reorder levels
  • Stock in against supplier challans
  • Stock out with issue slips; issues above the balance are blocked
  • Balances calculated from movements, never typed over
  • Low-stock list with a purchase request draft
  • Physical count, with adjustments that need a reason and approval
  • Manager summary: low stock, movements and pending adjustments

Not planned for the first release

  • Barcode or QR scanning (could be assessed as a custom add-on)
  • Multiple warehouses
  • Batch, expiry or serial-number tracking
  • Stock valuation for accounts
  • Live connection to accounting software (CSV only)

Planned setup steps

  1. 1.Copy the Sheet template into your business Google account.
  2. 2.Import your item list and opening balances as CSV.
  3. 3.Set reorder levels.
  4. 4.Show the storekeeper how to enter receipts and issues.
  5. 5.Do a test receipt, issue and count.

You need

  • • A Google account owned by your business
  • • Someone comfortable following a step-by-step setup guide

Support

Support terms will be published with the first installable release.

Questions

Is this available to buy today?
Not yet. Today you can try the interactive demo. The installable kit is being prepared and will be tested in a supervised pilot before it is sold.
Where is my data stored?
The plan: in your own Google account and Sheet, with Google processing it as your service provider. Saran Labs AI would not receive your stock data. This will be confirmed in the pilot.
Can someone change a balance directly?
The planned kit calculates balances from movement rows. A count difference becomes an adjustment row with a reason and the manager's approval.
Does it work with barcodes?
Not in the first release. Barcode scanning could be assessed as a custom add-on.
Is this AI?
The core kit is rule-based automation: checks, routing and reminders you configure. Optional AI features would be separate, clearly labelled add-ons.

What the pilot will confirm

These points are not decided or proven yet. They will be settled with a supervised pilot in a real business before the kit is offered.

For larger teams and organisations

Need multiple departments, approval levels or connections to existing systems?

We can assess a tailored implementation. Scope, security requirements and integrations are agreed before delivery.

Path 1

Standard kit

A planned, customer-owned Google Sheet configuration with documented limits, for small teams.

Path 2

Tailored implementation

Discovery first: we map your process, systems and requirements, then agree scope in writing before any build.
